I am selling my 93 Renntech 600E. The car has 105k and has had the following work done over the last 2 years:
1. New engine harness (both harness)
2. New evaporator
3. New distributor caps, plugs, wires.
4. new brake pads
5. Transmission fluid and filter

The car has Brembo 14" F50 front brakes and Brembo silver arrow ( I think that's what they are called?)rear brakes.
The car has the 6 liter upgrade, along with headers, high flow cats and the Renntech muffler.
BBS RS wheels with new tires.
K40 built in radar detector
Over $15k spent on the stereo : Mcintosh head unit, CD changer, Sinfoni 150.2 amp and 90.2 amp, Focal Utopia 165w3 speakers. Custom door pods.
The car is in great shape- it is a daily driver and not a show car.

A couple of issues:
1. The Renntech muffler rattles, the baffle inside is loose
2. The headliner is loose and needs to be redone
3. The antenna mast doesn't go down all the way
4. The vacuum solenoid for the second gear shift delay leaks and throws a code. Replacing it is extremely difficult due to the headers and not worth the hassle. The car runs and shifts just fine- the instead of holding the gear when cold.

I have all the records ( a 4" thick binder) and the clear title in hand. Pictures are posted on Flickr at:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcbw/sets/ ... 000533559/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcbw/sets/72157601180300048/with/2000533559/)

The car is located in Austin Texas.
WDBEA36E7PB942695- the car was hit in the back at a redlight 3 years ago (soccer mom in her mini van wasn't paying attention!)- the rear deck lid was replaced and repainted (I have the pictures of the bent deck lid somewhere)
There aren't a lot of cars like this around so it is difficult to put a price on such a car (well over $150k in total bills). I will entertain reasonable offers, but I will not respond to low ball offers. Just email me.

Thanks
JCBW

Did this one have the SLS removed and several adjustable rear links installed? Or is it all stock rear suspension?

Also - please post photos of the engine compartment! Wanna see that sexy six liter!

This car was located in Connecticut during the 2004/2005 time frame. It was advertised on AutoTrader and in the DuPont Registry at this time, and the asking price ranged from $38-44K. It had around 74K miles on it at this time. While I have some past photos of the car, I don't have any engine shots unfortunately.

It's supposed to be hitting 440 naturally aspirated HP -- sounds like the level of power that GSXR has been craving for with that old Albrex supercharger. Sounds like a trip to TX is in order, GSXR. Y'all come on down now.

Cheers,
Gerry

Definitely the Tackman/Curcio car then. This car had the full RENNtech heim joint rear suspension but Tony Curcio had to replace all the arms because the joints were worn out and making noise...he went back to stock.

I drove that car quite a lot when Tackman had it.

Almost bought it, but we couldn't agree on numbers (friends & money sheesh!!) Has the LSD as well.

Tackman didn't care for the Alcon brakes so he swapped them for the Brembo's (Renntech installed Alcon up until '98 when it went to Brembo's) I put the Alcons on my old 500E back in '99 man oh man did that thing stop.

When Tackman sold it to Curcio I got so pissed off I went & bought my E60 (which feels faster BTW).

Its a great car, shame they pulled off the SLS delete, handled like a big go kart!.

I have a couple of sets of spare pads for the front Brembos in my garage, I may even have rotors!!

How come this 6.0 makes 440 hp and most are around 380hp?

Bart has the only genuine (code 957) W124.036 E60 in the USA that I know of. David Hendy has a W210 RENNtech E60 (I believe).

How come this 6.0 makes 440 hp and most are around 380hp?
AMG's E60 motor was rated at 376hp (280kw, 381ps) although there is speculation it was purposely under-rated, and actually produces more like 390-400hp (this has never been proven though).

RENNtech claimed ~380hp for their base 6.0L conversion without camshafts, and ~400hp with camshafts. I have seen claims up to ~440hp for models with additional modifications such as the custom tubular headers, however I personally am skeptical of claims beyond the 400hp mark unless there are dyno graphs to back it up. I've seen two dyno pulls from RENNtech W124 6.0L cars, one with cams + tubular headers, the other I'm not sure, those two were 310hp and 325hp at the wheels (est. 380 & 400 at the crank, respectively). If an M119 is truly making 420-440hp, it should put down at least 340-350hp to the wheels.

The strongest 6.0L motor I've seen a dyno graph on is the AMG 6.0L that Bernard rebuilt in Germany, and he had custom $$$$ camshafts made for it. That one made ~360hp at the wheels, est ~435hp at the crank. This wasn't technically an E60, it was a 1992 500E with an AMG 6.0L conversion.

Yep, my car is a 210 Renntech E60.

I put my car on the dyno a week after I bought it, before I touched it. 350hp/400ft/lbs. I probably have the dyno graph somewhere, but it was 6 years ago.

A week later I started going thru the car, plugs filters etc, including cleaning the 1 huge K&N, which had about 1/2lb of sand in it.

I have been meaning to take it back again, but never did.

According to Bob @ Renntech the "race cats" they supplied don't last very long. I was going to pull them this year & see if it made any difference.

Dave, in germany i'm a member in the AMG-Owners Club Forums. There are quite some E60AMG or 500E 6.0 drivers. Some of them where on the Dyno and not a single one had below 395HP ;-)
Also the Torque-Numbers are wrong. AMG rated them at 580NM, but not a single one had below 600NM.
"Ottfried" for instance, the "head" of the german AMG Owners Club drives an E60 AMG too, he had his engine revised back in 2005 (new piston rings, all bearings at crankshaft replaced and other typical maintenace while engine is out) He didn't tuned anything and was on dyno directly afterwards. He had 405HP and ~605NM of Torque IIRC ;-)

The Renntech carbon fiber air covers turn green. I don't suppose there is any way to put them back to black? I assume they were black when new. Both of mine are pushing 20 years.

Why not throw up an asking price?

Save yourself the slap in the face low-ball offers; its been a buyers market for quite some time now...I'm just sayin' 8-)

Hi Christian,

AMG-Owners Club sounds interesting. Do you think I qualify to join as a member in that club?
(FYI, my car was converted by AMG back in 1994, and the stamped number on my engine is AMG 11997 600392)

Cheers

Do you qualify??!!! Sheesh, you have one of the maybe half-dozen (??) supercharged 6L 500E's in the world (maybe the only one?)... I think you qualify! Maybe you're overqualified...
