They don't specify what the engine is... M117, or M119? For a 1991 model, it could be either one. Shame there are no photos under the hood.

she's been for sale for a While..J-Auto had it prior. Engine is an M117/M119 hybrid.

Really does Need to be parked next to my Wagon, but @ it's current price I don't see that happening any time soon...:(

If it's an M119 .... it's not a Hammer.

it's not a Hammer.
Of course it is. Couple of last Hammers were built with M119.

Of course it is. Couple of last Hammers were built with M119.Read this thread carefully, my friend. It states such in multiple places (and in one place even says a Hammer is a 300E, not a CE or TE, but that's besides the point). Jono also confirms that a Hammer is a 124 with an M117.

Ah Gerry, itīs funny discussion- there is no Hammer as a clear definiton, so we can go on for years with it =)
Russians call E500E Wolf, germans say Wolf to army G.... On a famous dutch TV report they call every 036 a Hammer, even put some german song on it =))))
For me- every 124 with V8 as pre-036, built by AMG, with 6 L ( no matter- 117- 117/9 or 119) is a Hammer.
Different thing is- iīd better built my own C124 V8 for less than 60 grant...

This term "Hammer" is an American term that was adopted by AMG and then the market. but if you look at it in pure terms it is a 124 sedan with a twin cam AMG M117 (I am the purest and say ONLY 6L but others debate this to say any twin cam 117.)

I guess the real Hammer owners Jono & Omegabenz are best qualified to comment on this, though.

I live in South Korea & anything imported gets the price doubled, especially Mercedes/BMW.
They (Koreans) have no comprehension of collector cars. This is probably someone who is trying to flip a car that they have bought in Japan, which is only a couple of hours away.If you put some wide wheels & some colored lights on your car here it is "customised".
They are also the worlds worst drivers with one of the highest accident rates in the world.
Just my 2cents
