Since the ad won't be posted forever, I saved the photos and info, and posted them on my website at this link:

Hi.

This is a very special and nice car. But one thing surprises me - using so much money on modifications, but still not upgrading to electric left side mirror?!

I also suspect the mileage to be wrong. Look at the wearing on the drivers seat, that has seen more than 18.000 km! The milage is probably after the engine conversion, who knows.

I have contacted the seller and asked for further information about the dates for the modification and a spesific parts list and a certificate from V?th. Nothing received yet, only some additional pics.

No, this is the Löwer ;-)
Löwer is/was 4km away from my home, in "Groß-Zimmern". As i was a kid/youth i have visited the "Heinz-Harald-Frenzen Cart-Bahn" which was next to the Löwer Factory and i remember a lot of fat black Benzes have stood there often in front.
To bad they went bankrupt after corruption/tax-fraud in the end 90s. Who knows, being a car-freak since child-age, maybe i would have made my apprenticeship there...

Short personal story with a Löwer-Car:
Around 2003, a friend of mine was the head car-care guy at the local Mercedes-Dealer/Shop in Dieburg (2.5Km from Groß-Zimmern/Löwer), he knew i was a fresh owner of a MB 190E 2.6 at that time, so he called me one day and said i should visit the dealership as they received a "special" 190E as "trade-in" from a customer (The dealer reduced the price for the new Benz of that customer at only around 5000€ IIRC).
That said, i went there and saw a brilliant looking deep-black (color-code 040) "Löwer 190E 3.2". Incredible how that was looking. Car had a tuned (camshafts, portmatching/plishing, whatever) 3.2L M104, rated at 245HP (DIN) coupled with a 5-Speed AT-Tranny planted-in.
A "special" but very decent Bodykit (something between AMG and the 16V bodykit) and a incredibly good looking interior with electrical sport-seats completely coverd in "Raff-Look leather" (this: http://www.sklapendra.de/_referenzen/124c.jpg) and a very nice wood-trim all around made of some sort of "birds-eye maple wood" or a darkened burlwood - can't remember. So far it was the best looking 190E i've ever saw.

So far so good... Every weekend when we saw each other, my friend told me new stories about how the apprentices and the shop-head where blasting that car with WOT during their daily brakes, over the large car-lot/yard. 3 Weeks later the car had a gearbox damage and it was decided to offer it for sale only to export or to other dealers for export, but not to individuals. Price was set at 6900€. No-one did bought that car unfortunately.
Another 2 weeks later my friend told me that during this day a large car-trailer directly ordered from Daimler-Chrysler Stuttgart came by and picked up this Löwer 190E 3.2L and another cheap red 190E 1.8L. A large "junkyard" kind of crane picked the cars up and put them into the trailer, which in fact was some sort of a huge "container" with an integrated car-compactor. So they destroyed that car (i could have cried) and the red 1.8L and the dealership received the full offered price from Daimler-Chrysler and was ordered to not sell any traded-in 190E/W201 anymore at the dealership.

Would i've been in the age i am now and would have had the income of today, i would have bought it immediately. Such a nice lovely car and that morons shredded it.

Sweet story, but i was expecting V12 to appear :)
Christian, you´re wrong. This is exactly the car- Väth or Loewer, doesn´t matter how you call it.

Haha thanks. No, i was to young to experience a V12 ^^

Regarding the car, personally for me it would matter whether its a Väth or a Löwer. But since Väth AND Löwer supposedly have worked on this car (one built the engine, one reworked/assembled the car) this is a special situation here.

Typical! So hard to trust auto establishments with your pride and joy. Just like what happened to fudge's former 500E - only his one was written off!

Yeah, right. The missus is from Russia, so I hear plenty stories. Visited it myself, a while back. Got picked up by such a public taxi bus thingie, dude has the wheel 45" turned to steer straight. Exhaust hangs on the ground, windshield broken. Then we start driving, people pay while he's driving, trying to avoid the 20CM deep holes in the tarmac. Turning onto a four-lane freeway, we're driving 5-6 cars wide. How the?

Oh, and the VIP taxi there was one where they removed the seatbelts for more comfort.

Ahhh, lovely memories :-D

Gerry, if I understand that diary properly, it tells of you and your wife traveling over there to pick up your adopted child. With all due respect, but I doubt that you can see *anything* negative under those circumstances. :) What else can possibly matter when you have your child in your arms for the first time? (And yes, I know :))

I'm pretty sure this would look different on your next visit.
