I am in the market for a Brabus 6.5 or 7.3. Any leads would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

From what I've heard the dutch owner of the W124 Brabus 7.3 is willing to sell for the right price, but this is info from 4 months ago.
This is the car I am talking about:

There usually is one for sale on the Brabus website. Black, maybe 250,000 euros or something large but only a few hundred miles if I remember correctly.

Claimed specs from Brabus brochure:
0-100kph = 4.5 seconds (62.4 mph)
0-200kph = 15.7 seconds (124.8 mph)
Top speed 307kph (191mph)
For that top speed it must have 2.24 gears... don't think it could hit those numbers with 2.47 gears. Would be nice to get more data though.
BTW - I moved the S124 M120 conversion discussion to a new thread at this link, so as not to clutter up the WTB thread.

I know its not easy for one to come up for sale so I am looking at other options like an R129 SL73/SL60 or an E60 Limited. Thanks for all the help.

I own a Brabus E60 W124. It's based on the E420. Built in the second half of 93 and tuned by Brabus in 94 and then EZ in januari 95. I'm thinking of selling it if I get the right price. Is this something that you might be intrested in?
Hi, out of the blue, where when how? would that be the narrow bodied 400E420 6.0, the real sleeper?
W out the ASR even, Brabus interior and so on, many years ago you could see them advertised, and
wonder WTH is that? later I learned more and have somewhere a comparison test w the E60 AMG 036.
Would love to see some pic.....

What did the 2.47 gears come in originally Dave?
I bet the character of the 6.5 with the longer stroke makes for a real different driver.

Hi,
I bought the car 2006 in Sweden. I think it has the same body as the E500. Interior is factory original, Brabus only changed the steering wheel and the speedometer. Car is in winter storage but I have a few 4-5 year old pictures.

Just the same Karo interior my 400E has, mine in full cloth thoug, I do have a weak spot for the Black Karo I must admit.
But, but..with that price tag, I'll rethink and seriously try to enhance the E50 motor in it, to at least 5.6liter and have something
very Close to this, a real Hammer this is, in a true sense, pre facelift, no ASR, metal to the floor when YOU feel for it.

I am not sure about the Brabus 6.0, but for the Brabus 6.5 we have an ASRIII system, which is a Brabus system with ASR off switch.
The only thing I hate from BRABUS are those Ronal made diamond cut wheels... the clear coat is just crap. Evey thing else they make is higher the M-B factory standards

Sorry just a small correction, the ASR III is standard on all W124036. The difference to the predecessor ASR II is the possibility to open the throttle to reduce engine load effect while braking and cornering hence to reduce the possibility of locking the rear axle which would led to a spin. The ASR OFF switch is retrofit (by Brabus) and wires up as we know. Btw have u got new wheels on your Monster, Ahmad?

Perfect condition is not so hard to define. No rust, solid paint, interior whole and fresh. All mechanical parts in full working condition, all classic 036 problems dealt with. Suspension firm and tight. Owner history and service history checks out. No damage, present or prior, not any bigger one's at least. All in all a sound vehicle. It's used, so it will not be new. But I think you know what I mean. Really - it's not so hard to know when you see a great (perfect) example vs. a good vs. a bad one.
It depends - mileage is usually not a problem condition wise. My E420's got 330.000 kilometers on the clock, and it's in super condition. Of course, I've done loads to it, and it's been very well kept by the previous owner (and me). It all comes down to how well it's been cared for.
But - on such a collector's car - milage is a problem for the worth of the car, no matter the condition. Low mileage is always better on rare vehicles. But then, some cars are so rare, that mileage and condition doesn't matter. The sheer possibility of being able to buy one trumps everything when it comes to value. But I don't think the Brabus 7.3 is there (yet).
Just my 2 cents.
I know what it is to live with 500E with more than 430.000 km on the clock. If you want to have it in "perfect" condition you have to replace every little detail on the car.
Otherwise you just look at it and ask yourself- what is next to go wrong and how much will i pay this time?
I know what was done on this 7,3. Engine alone swallowed more than 20.000 Euro, cooling system etc. Anyway my point is- not every moving detail on this car was changed or renewed, so it is a next coming task for a new owner.
So for me "perfect" condition is either a nice survivor or a completely new rebuild car. If we talking about that much money.
PS Remember "Reincarnation E500" from Moscow? Car was looong time on the market for 60K$....

You can´t treat a car like a human.
You must love it. (c) Walter Röhrl.
I totally agree! I have not seen this Brabus example, so I was talking more in "general" terms. If it is in "perfect" condition, with that milage, I don't think €80.000 is unreasonable. It is a lot of money, yes, but it's not like there's many of them, and as you've stated, an older Brabus engine is stupidly expensive to overhaul. Many parts are not available, support from Brabus can be so-so und so weiter.
In the end, the value of any car is just exactly the amount of money a buyer is willing to part with. No more, no less.

Perfect condition???? You take the ignition key, "turnkey" drive the car to the show room, thats it! Anything up to that
IS a, fair, good, very good, restauration Project. One car to compare with is, the BRABUS 6.5 that was in the show room
a couple of years back, there we are talking......

In US terms, that's "turnkey" matching # Muscle car, for that kind of Money, it has to be....pristine.....
You do not want to buy an expensive car like this and end up, changing the brakes, the complete exhaust, etc etc
it has to look as new or nearly as, we all know what a restauration will cost, double that what you estimate.
