    Re: Lowering kit for 500E

hope those are some REALLY light weight 19's or it's going to crush you And your suspension...I have 19's in the rear of the Brumos E, but they are rather light forged monolites...relative to an 18 X 9.5 aero they're doing A OK On the weight scale.

There is no "kit" really... I don't think H&R makes the 500E (SLS Equipped) springs anymore, but you can use the Non SLS bits. They may require some judicious trimming to work Happy with the SLS IME.

I like bilstein sports or koni yellows up front, but that's just me. Rear bar and a diff if you really want to enjoy yourself.

Try the 19" wheels first without lowering, make sure you like them. Then lower the car afterwards if you are really, really sure you want to do that.

    Re: Lowering kit for 500E

If it's going to be just a show car, go for it, but if you are going to drive it everyday. I would be reluctant to run the 19s and lower it also. These cars have a great ride already.

You can lower it a little by changing to thinner spring pads and adjusting the SLS down a little in the rear. You should read the forum there are a lot of people who have done what you want to and were not very happy.

19" is going to ride like crap already. Do what gsxr says and try the 19s first. If you can live with that ride then attempt to lower it but you will end up with the worst of the worst in regards to ride.

Anything advise coming from Jono or gsxr is good advise.

    Good Luck
    Terry

Noooooooooooope. That's going to ride, handle and stop Horribly. IIRC 18 X 9.5 with rubber weighed in at over 60lbs... I'm quite certain the 19 will weight significantly more.

Are not the 19" Mono II's a rare W140 wheel?

If so, the ET will be way out of whack for a 036, (46mm?), you may need ~20mm plus spacers and extra long lug bolts

    Just a thought...
