    WTB: Engine Harness E320

Hi, Looking for a new or good used engine harness for a 1995 E320 wagon. Production date of 05/95 I think the correct part # is 124-440-2933. Let me know if you can help.

    Jeff-

Yikes... $1490 list, $1100 discount from Naperville:

I had no idea these were so expensive new. The M119 engine harnesses are less than half that much (for now)...

Hi, My dealer says NLA on the harness, but again they are often wrong. The car does have ASR (I know because the light is on) We just did a rebuilt T-body on it and at least now you can drive the car.

Have you checked local salvage yard? Plenty of e320 finish there with updated harnesses

    An idea for you.

Jono rebuilt a lower harness for one of my 400's just last month. I just emailed him out of the blue, and he responded quickly and said to send it to him.

I know you're looking for an upper, but Jono seems to have a pretty talented group at his shop. My harness came back looking like new. Again, I realize it was a lower, but I'd hit him up and see what he says about doing an upper.

Jeff, it's not a Canadian car. It's an EPC error in the description for paint code 040 Black.

EPC does indicate p/n 124-440-29-33 is correct for the engine harness; as of F302892 (fairly late build car).

The late harness was used as of late 1994 model year (approximately), or early 1995 model year. Might be a little harder to locate, I'm not sure.

I don't know what the difference is compared to the early harness (124-440-56-32) or if you could use the early harness in the late car.

    The 2933 harness was used in later 1995 e320's. I have a 1995 E320 with a 5632 harness in it.

I guess, I really need the 2933 harness.

    Re: WTB: Engine Harness E320

There really are no more of the 124-440-29-33.

I would try my luck with a 56 32 and adapt as I needed. Sorry...

I have a 5632. There are several 124-440-29-33 on ebay.

Ken should get a finder's fee for this one. Ha! Like that's going to happen.

Worse yet, you can't buy it at the dealer - it's NLA!! The $1400 price is what it cost back when MB would still sell it to you...

    Re: WTB: Engine Harness E320

From what I see in the wrecking yards, E320 harnesses are quite common, and are replacement models in at least 75% of the cars that I see. It would be a nice business to remove the factory harnesses from the cars and sell them for a decent profit. I would think for folks that need them, $300-400 for a harness in good/great condition would be a good price, considering they are NLA. I think it would be difficult to create one for that much.

Next time I go to the yards, I will remove a harness and see how much time it requires to do so.

    Re: WTB: Engine Harness E320

Gerry, it has been confirmed that the 1995 harness (124-440-29-33) is NLA.

I'm not sure if the older harness (124-440-56-32) is NLA or not. But even if it is still available, that price is $1470 MSRP...!!
