Need help to remove rear seat back 2016 E400 Wagon (S212)

Have these fancy new seat covers to install and it would be much nicer to remove the rear seats first. Already popped off the bottom cushion but the split folding seat back has me stumped. Anyone have access to the factory service manual for this procedure?

I don't have the service manual on hand but if I recall correctly there are three 10mm bolts (right, left, and center behind console box which must be removed), then the whole unit needs to be slid/pushed upwards to release the tangs holding it in place.

No worries all, we figured it all out today. Not so hard but need four arms and two sets of eyes!

It took two sessions but we finished installing these Zacasi seat covers. They are seriously good quality, German-made, and worth considering if you want to preserve your factory seats. A bit of embellishment with contrasting white stitching and diamond-pattern suede inserts was nice too.

The only niggle is a mysterious opening on the side of the driver's seat. Possibly for a seat back release lever for a coupe model? I've asked about it and anticipate they will send a replacement seat back without this hole.

OK, so a bit of a caveat with these Zacasi (or ZACASi) seat covers, more to do with customer service than product quality. They replied the opening in the side of the driver's seat cover is for "level for vertebra", which I believe is a poor translation for lumbar adjustment. It did not appear on the menu but was automatically inserted in my order by their online configurator.

Their mistake, they should fix, right? Apparently not. They say I should have picked it up when I reviewed the order specs before confirming, so they don't feel responsible. Can't say I agree so I've appealed and hope to hear better news soon.
