    ASR light while driving

    Hi,
can someone tell me what the codes mean?
    My indy mechanic cannot.
Had to put the scanner on as the ASR light went on when I was driving up a hill overtaking a couple of cars and changing a alot between 2nd and 3rd gear.
After the 5th or 6th time, the car lost speed plus the ASR light went on and I had to stop the car.
Turned igniton off and on again and it was like nothing happened.
E-throttle is a rebuild and from this year, so is the upper harness.
    Need help!
    Thanks,
    Rudy

Just curious, were all codes cleared by the INDY, then he drove it and these are the ones that came back?

^^^ Same question. You need to clear all codes, drive the car, and see which codes return. It would be odd to have all of those come back simultaneously.

Anyway - what you experienced was "limp mode", and yes it resets when you turn the ignition off / on. Something is up with the ETA, or E-GAS, or NSS, or idle switch.

no, did not clear the codes.
E-throttle is new, well rebuilt, but still cannot be the reason/source.
    Airmass?
I will ask him to clear all codes and wait and report.
    Thanks

No, not airmass (MAF). That would affect engine running (LH system), not throttle control.

Again, your car went into limp mode, which is strictly an electronic accelerator system failure (ETA, E-GAS, or a signal to that system).

    Re: ASR light while driving

The neutral safety switch is the most likely cause of the problem. If not that, then could be the E-GAS module, given that the ETA is newish. The idle switch is probably the least likely cause. I've yet to see an E500E that doesn't throw that code.

Check the integrity of the connections on your battery in the trunk, particularly the smaller red wires that attach to the positive battery clamp. The entire CAN box is powered DIRECTLY off of the battery, via this little wire bundle.

On few occasion, but not all, my car has gone into limp mode when I have punched it off the line.
But normal driving, I don't have any issues.
Is this an issue with my ETA? E-gas?

I think its the neutral switch, since they did some work on the transmission.
I will have him clear the codes and see.
Plus I will order it just in case.
    Thanks for providing detailled information.

When installed or re-installed, the NSS has to be lined up correctly. It's in the factory manual. It's a simple process but important, and sometimes overlooked.
