Not that I know of, but you could get custom ones made (assuming there is valve clearance). I've heard of people going the other way, with lower compression pistons, for forced induction. I always wondered why MB didn't use 11:1 ratio on the later 5.0's like they did on the 4.2's...

Stock is 10.0:1 on all the M119 5.0L engines, AFAIK. The only M119 motor larger than 4.2L displacement that I think had higher compression was the W210 E50 AMG, which was 11.0:1, according to the published specs. All the standard 5.0's (and AMG 6.0's) were 10.0:1 ratio. Brabus offered 11.0:1 ratio on their 6.xL engines but only for 1996-up with Motronic injection.

This answer itselt, yes Mahle & KS does, for the E50 that is. I really would like comparing photos btw the two, looking for pistons for a 5.6 build. Here a pict. of an E50 assebbly,, Roger

5 L is a larger diameter piston, so there is more distance and chance of detonation, which is probably why compresson is 10:1. I think RT or AMG or Brabus said early 6.0 liters had detontation problems on pump gas.

How much hp do you gain with 11:1? 10 hp?

Ballpark is 3% so yep, around 10hp. Not good ROI...

unless you're going to bump displacement while you are @ it, I can't rationalize the investment.

Oh my, this was an old thread but anyway. It struck me when I talked to an old friend about the superiority of the "newer" M119......namely the 980-s
We were talking about the E50 in particular compared to the LH 974 of the "old" style and thinking about the Comp. Ratio 11,0, as I have not really
been thinking much of and read out the CL500 motor# 119 980 ******* 11,0 so a bit surprised I was.

The heads with cams and manifold, thats what set them apart...... get that M119 980 and build your " high compression " 5liter!
