    Brake Line Replacement

    Gents

I just replaced brake lines on my w126 along with shocks and rear springs. When I was loosening and tightening the lines back up pretty much all of the little plastic pieces that hold the sensors to the brake hardline retainer spring broke. I cannot find these parts in EPC anywhere. Does anyone know the part # for these clips? I have them zip tied loosely in place but I don't consider that a permanent solution...

    Thanks,

    EPC, group 54, table 675. It's a bad picture. If they are for your '91, you need quantity 2 of part # A126 546 42 43.

If I'm understanding what he wants correctly, those retainers are only on the front. I gave him the numbers on my post above. No one can ever seem to find those things because the EPC rendering of them is so bad...

Got them, most the drawings in that group suck pretty bad. I do indeed need the rear ones, I was able to just crack them and not splinter them horribly like the fronts. I have asked my parts guy but he is just not familiar with the older models. I thought it was #170 on page 690 but I don't think that's it after looking at the qty...we'll see what he says.

    Re: Brake Line Replacement

OK, as I sort of thought on that. I had to order the rear ones last year when I did the rear wheel carrier bushing replacement. That procedure is documented here.

The cable retainers you are talking about are a cheap part and readily available from the dealer. If you are talking about what I think you are, the part number and a little bit more on the replacement is documented in this post.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    Gerry

Sorry I bumped send too soon. Quicksilver said 126 chassis in the original post. It looks like you are linking him to 129/V8124 stuff. Did he mean to say 036 instead of 126? Quicksilver does your 420 have ASR? Since I did not have an identification number I can't tell for sure. Unless Quicksilver has a 126 with ASR he has no clips like that

    Oops, you're right, Klink.

I somehow had .036 on the brain. Silverman, don't bother with my posts, they're not relevant for the 126.

    Klink/Gerry

It's a 126 w/ ASR I had my VIN in EPC when I got the part numbers so they seem fine. I texted them to my dealer parts buddy and he thought they were right. After I looked at Gerry's threads I realized that's a different back end, I thought it was just a different/earlier 126 with SLS at first... My 126 has a rear brake line clip similar to the front because of the ASR I guess. I have to take a look at it again. I didn't break the rear ones near as bad as the front. The front clips are on order so I'll know shortly. So many parts for the 126 are NLA, don't know how much is left before these cars get handed over to Classic Center....
