    Best fitment for E500 (NEEZ)

    Hello,

I'm just browsing around for alloys, and I have to say that NEEZ probably has the best selection for something that is OEM style, but slightly larger or dare I say, better.

I am new to W124 E500 and was wondering, what is the best fitment for our cars?

Is it supposed to be a square setup or a staggered setup? I have no problems running a staggered setup. I'm just looking for the best balance between performance/function and aesthetics. I would prefer to have the wheels flush with the fenders, to fit the most rubber, but not rub or create any problems.

Hopefully someone has gone down this path and would have some good suggestions.

    Cheers

Website to NEEZ, they have quite a few fitment options:

I would personally prefer EURO SIX RS80 over EURO FIVE RS35. EURO SIX would be more OEM/EVO style than the other one.

Jeff0093 has Neez on his red 500E. PM him for his setup if he does not respond to this thread within a few days.

Just checking - you know the NEEZ, if available, are like $4k/set - right?

Pretty sure they don't have any of the NEEZ Evo-II-esque ready to go for sale.....Jeff got the last full set IIRC.

They would make more if they had a large order though Jeff said.

Since Neez wheels was mentioned - I requested Neez Japan for the Neez 5 Model back in 2011, but they were already NLA at that point. FYI, the 5 Model is not the same as the Euro 5, but they sit really nice on the 036:

    A set came for sale here on the forum back in 2009 and I tried to score them in 2012, but the deal regretfully fell through because I didn't have any cost effective source for overseas shipping at that point. Here is the sales thread;

    It appears that member AS Design has bought those wheels, ref. post #14 in this thread;

Yes I picked up these wheels. Anyone know what lugs are used and where I can find blank center-caps?

Btw - not sure if euro 6 is different than 5spoke iterations price wise but from what I have been told it will end up adding up to a good bit more than 4k if buying new (assuming can get the wheels - matching bolts are very expensive too if want to use neez ones - don't have to use; could get something more reasonable from Otis LA)

From what I was told, wholesale cost for Jeff was more like 1.2k each a couple years ago just for wheels (retail was more like 1.4k each), Shipping from Japan was pretty hefty as well. However, keep in mind that compared to other high end forged wheels (e.g. HRE / ADV1 / etc) this price is not unreasonable at all as new forged wheels can easily be 1.5-2k+ each depending on finish choice (I looked extensively into going forged, until I found a genuine set of 19" MB monoblocks). Reality I learned was that If one is talking new high quality forged wheels (virtually all are custom order), you will be pretty hard pressed to find anything less than 1k each as price of admission and the neez in and of themselves are very, very high end wheels (separate from fact that they look awesome on our cars).

If wanting to go forged, Obviously there are some really good used deals that can be had on high end forged wheels in general but it can be a needle in haystack search to find the style/finish/offset/size/bolt pattern that someone else custom ordered (usually for a different car) that lines up just like you would have ordered it

The wheels, bolt's and shipping were a lot. here are some notes I have. The dollar is stronger now compared to the Yen then when I purchased in July of 13.

I don't have the weights right now but they are very light, for a 18 inch wheel. I've owned many high end wheels (HRE,BBS,ALPINA, A.C SCHNITZER) and these are the nicest I've ever seen, closest comparison would be the forge BBS race wheels out of Japan.

I almost sold them a couple months ago but the deal didn't happen, I decided to keep them for now.

Used set of Neez Euro 6 on Japan Yahoo - 9.5 ET28:

About $2,650 plus figure another $1,000 in fees to get them to the US - and then buy tires.

Re: Best fitment for E500 (NEEZ)

Hey everyone and jeff, thanks for all the information.

I'm actually interested in the Euro 5 because it is slightly different, as my E500 already came with the OEM Evo2 wheels.

The short story is that while I like the Euro 6 a lot, I've seen a lot of W124.036 specific Euro 5 photos (these appear to be a custom (group?) order by a Japanese company/client), with strange-but-interesting Porsche wheel caps.

Jeff, do you happen to have Neez's email or any contact information? Their website contact form is broken, and I have no way of contacting them, unfortunately. I know they're pricey, but I would still like to try to price them and see if it is possible.

Blog post from the people who ordered the Euro5 (custom order?):

Video of the custom order Euro5:

Photos of the Euro 5 (custom order?):

There are a lot more photos, but they're hard to find and I don't have them bookmarked.

Would appreciate if anyone knows how to contact NEEZ (their website doesn't work for contact forms), and see if they have any proper offsets for us.

Appreciate seeing this email. Did you notice anything special about their wheel bolts, and are they mandatory to have in order to use with their wheels?

If not, how come you had to buy them together? And do you mind disclosing the price of the bolts?

    You're welcome.
I've added the phone number to Neez in my previous post as well. I haven't noticed that Neez use special lug bolts?

BTW, have you considered HRE 305M and RS105M?
They are both monoblock and has a deeper dish and really good looking, and a good alternative to both Neez Euro 5 and Neez 5 model.

The bolts were around $160 less today with the Yen I think they were around 14,500 yen., so I guess the cost wasn't crazy I'm just use to high end wheels coming with bolts. The center caps were also sourced from the Stealer.

That's really unfortunate to hear. I've emailed them and have yet to hear back as well.

Please do give me a shout if you ever decide to sell your wheels. I'd be interested.

That said, I still haven't given up, and will have someone call them in Japan and hopefully reach them via the phone.

Do you think there's enough demand for 10 sets on our forum? Perhaps we could commission our own batch for a GB.

They definitely aren't cheap wheels, but they're arguably the best option for our cars, if you want to keep that OEM+ style.
