My name is Dan, and I’m from Denmark. I got my 500E in October 2011 – this is my first Mercedes so not much experience - I try to learn as much as possible.

I’m the third owner of the car, and I picked it up from a barn where it was stored for almost one year. I gave it a new battery, copper-fuses and a service to get it running and 3x corrosion prevention as the climate in the Nordic is very hard on the cars.
It’s a 1992 and had 293k on the engine and the color is 761 variant B.

Done so far:
Rust and painting work, Replaced upper harness, New pitman arm, Air Intake Panel Modification, New rims and tires, New engine chain, FGSswitch first gear start module, New radio, Renovation of the rear axle suspension, New Bosch fog lences.

H&R springs, Wabasto heater BBW 46, climate condenser, facelift front and back…..

:welcome: you're in the right place ! Car looks nice and I see you opted for color coding the lower cladding and bumpers.

Hei Dan.

You have got a very nice ride there! :-)
By first glanse, I thought the color was 744 silver, but I've never seen this color before, must be rare.
Do you really want to facelift it?

Code 761 = Polar Silver, but I don't think it was offered on the 124.036 chassis...? Any chance you could post the datacard, VIN, or photo of the stamped metal plate near the radiator? Or was it changed to 761 when repainted? Looks great though!

No, but maybe it was
1. Special order ( same as white or any non metallic colour on 036)
2. Car was repainted later... VIN would clarify that.

The car was repainted in 2007, and the VIN is WDB1240361B681809
Original paint code was 122 Pearl Grey Metallic (perlmattgrau), I believe this color was used from ~1986 and forward.
The current color is Polar Silver Metallic, I believe this color was used by Mercedes from ~2003 and forward.
