Chaps,

Had my car in the shop for a new radiator, oil pressure sending unit and lighting problem. The mechanic gave me the car back and asked me to order a new module relay because it will take a long time to get it from the local MB dealer. He gave me the part number but when I came back home I noticed that it is a 126 part. Is it correct?

Please advise,

Best regards,

Orazio

Yep, that's correct. There are a lot of parts on the W124 which have prefixes from different chassis, i.e. 126, 129, etc. That particular module is the "bulb monitoring" unit. It's quite expensive new but is cheap used, I'd get a used one... they are not a common failure. You can change it yourself in 5-10 minutes.

You can get this relay pretty much at any Benz junkyard - they came on a huge number of cars from the 1980s and early 1990s. I would try MillerMBZ (in North Carolina) or Potomac German Auto (in Florida and Georgia), or Pierre Hedary (Titusville, FL). Or perhaps you can check with Jono here via PM -- likely he has one laying around that he could send you.

Cheers,
Gerry

Great idea, where is it located? I mean the module.

Found it under Fuse box, fuse cabinet, relay unit.
