Does anyone know if our engines use wasted spark ignition? Does the EZL tell both coils to fire at the same time? Anyone tested it?

I believe that each coil is fired individually, but I have never tested it. I would bet no on the waste spark concept, as the whole idea of this twin distrubitor system seems to be allowing the coils extra saturation time in extreme situations, combined with the elimination of having a centrifugal rotor position advance as required on the late 116/117s. It also allowed space savings as one of the huge late 116/117 style distributors was no longer required. Do know, if you don't already that each cylinder has it's own seperate stored AKR map! That's pretty impressive for the time.
