I noticed that too. Maybe it's the cabling to the "Fuel Controller" on the dash, image#10?

what brakes are on the car? I see the porsche calipers. Color of the discs- are those carbon?

I have never seen slotted carbon rotors, don't think they need to be.

This is floating rotors, but I have never seen "slotted" rotor hubs before. No brake equipment vendor has rotors in this sizes fitting the 124, so they are adapted to fit. I guess the hubs are a custom design too.
