WTB: down pipes for M117 tri-y's

I have a set of tri-y's but no downpipes. Anybody has a set of downpipes to sell or can suggest something? I am also interested in the correct part numbers for the downpipes. If I would know the exact part numbers for the LHD I can widen my search. Thanks.

I have one of the two factory/unused downpipes to go with the tri-ys. Unobtanium from MB. I think you have to get them from Timevalve or the Banzworld 126 forum parts guys.

Is there a preference for material ie... SS or CS (carbon steel)? I'll try to get the ball rolling on this. I have very little free time... but if you're patient, you'll get the quality.

Interesting, thanks. I wonder how the quality and more importantly the fit is.

Serious M117/560 owners who want performance, should be interested in this exhaust setup: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-1991-M...4383.l4275.c10

GVZ that looks like standard setup. Logs would be similar but the back half of the manifold would be down set for dual exhaust, perhaps the wrong link? it is something to see logs going 4 cyl exhaust going into 1 separate down pipe, but Federal with all 8 going into one is something else.

Re: WTB: down pipes for M117 tri-y's

Thank you, guys. I think I am okay for now, the only thing missing is time. I have a set of tri-y manifolds (2 parts new from Argentina, one new and one used from Germany), so I have all four manifolds. I was also able to get a set of downpipes new that appear a decent replica (I suspect they were made by IMASAF). I also bought a custom made SSt cat-delete pipe, I will weld the O2 bungs at assembly (I have my own TIG and MIG) in my garage. I also bought the resonators, to replace the original ones (I do not want a very loud exhaust, so from the original setup I will keep the resonators and the muffler).

In addition I also have a set of Euro logs with the downpipes (one of them brand new) for the 278 HP engine (yes, they are the larger ones, not the smaller seen on the 500SECs). They were my initial purchase for a better exhaust, when having tri-y's looked a very distant achievement, but things have changed since.

As you can see having the need for a project or the necessary parts is not my problem, having the time to do all of this is. Maybe in winter I'll put the car on the liftstands for few months and work on all this....

Anyway thanks for all the replies, mostly a special thank you to 7Delta for jumping in to help.

    Roy
