No personal interest, just saw this come up on local CL:
1993 Mercedes Benz 400E - $4800 (St. Petersburg)

For sale is my W124 1993 Mercedes 400E. Enthusiasts might know it as the "baby" 500E and it is nearly as rare. For more background on this awesome example of classic Mercedes "built to a standard, not a cost" check out https://bringatrailer.com/2017/11/25...des-benz-w124/
4.2L DOHC V8 engine, 4spd automatic trans, rear wheel drive. Last of the M119 V8s to have the metal engine oiling tubes that do not fail like the newer plastic ones. All options for the year except heated seats. I am the third owner. This has always been a Florida car (no rust) and was bought new in Palm Beach. I have owned the car for a couple of years and brought it up to date on maintenance as well as performed other necessary fixes along the way. Power everything, including telescoping wheel and front headrests, and the driver's seat has two memory settings. Rear headsets can be reclined via a button on the dash. Dual front airbags. ZERO leaks. Ice cold AC and all the vents work properly; its running modern R134 refrigerant. Have all receipts for repairs and maintenance except the oil and filter changes. Both sets of keys, owners manuals, and service book showing regular services by the original owner are included. Everything works except the passenger side power headrest. I can hear the motor working but the headrest does not move under its own power. Aftermarket stereo with CD and iPod connectivity, but could be changed to an AUX input with a new cable. This was my daily driver. I am only selling it because I acquired another car. I have addressed pretty much every weak point for this generation of E-Class and it is ready to buy and drive.
The following maintenance and repairs have been performed by myself or an independent Mercedes shop:
-New spark plugs, wires, dual caps/rotors, and valve covers replaced about 18k miles ago
-New shift modulator and transmission flush, filter and gaskets 1k miles ago
-Air and cabin filters replaced last year
-New AC blower motor and resistor last year
-Refurbished push button climate control unit 2 years ago
-Both rear window motors replaced
-New radiator, coolant hoses, dual fans, AC condenser, and drier 6 months ago (more on that below)
-New rear wheel bearings 4 months ago
-All fluids besides rear differential have been changed in the past two years
-New throttle cable 2 months ago
-Oil changes every 7000 miles per owners manual with fully synthetic oil (zero oil burn during ownership)
A woman backed into the car at low speed months ago pushing in the grill and damaging the fans, radiator, etc as noted above. NO frame or body damage besides the grill, which I replaced with a good OEM used one. This car is a very comfortable cruiser with plenty of passing power thanks to the V8. The center console leather is worn so it could use a recover or replacement with a used piece, but other than that the interior is in very good shape for its age. No rips or tears in the leather. Slight cracking on the wood around the shifter. The paint is in good shape but could use a detailing/waxing to bring out its full shine. The clearcoat is still intact with no flat or flaking spots.
I am asking $4800 or best offer. I have much more than that in the car and am not looking to profit.
