How to get the correct Euro lenses?

    Hi.

I have an issue with the lenses on my 500e,-93
Just get the car from England to Sweden.
I contact the local Mb dealer to get lenses to Euro lights.
Sadly I got wrong lenses, I got the “older” models.
How could I get the right one?

I think it will be this nr I should have, can someone confirm?

    000-820-12-66
    000-820-13-66

    Hi from the UK!

If the headlamps on the 500e you have are genuine UK (I.e. left dipping) then once you have found some Euro lamps for your car, I would be interested in buying the UK lens from you.

In fact, I think to change from UK to Euro lamps you need to change the reflectors too, and I would be interested in buying these too.

PM me if you would like to sell them.

Does your 93 model have the newer 94 hood on it?

When I changed my Bornite 500 headlights from RHD to LHD, like you mentioned, I also changed the reflectors. The old RHD lenses were sold, but I still have the RHD reflectors. Haven't bothered to write up an ad yet, so I still have them. Zip me a PM and we can do a deal on the reflectors.

Probably need to also check if the car was an original UK import, or if it came from somewhere else... could have correct lamps/reflectors, but wrong lenses. Need to check everything to confirm.

    Hi,

    Thanks for all respons.
The car is a Japan import.... bought the car in London.
Will this be a problem for the lenses and reflectors?
To day I found a complete set of lamps from a 300e, -96.
I haven’t bought this yet, but I have the number of the lamp “shell”,
    if that’s the right description?
The lamp-hous is maby a better word?
All the numbers seem to be the same, but just on the reflector I can’t se.
This car is a late -93, so yes, it has the newer hood,
the lenses are like the one in the thread from gxhr.
    How should I do?

Re: How to get the correct Euro lenses?

Berglund, it depends what exact headlamps are in the car currently. Assuming they are original from Japan (which has left-hand traffic, same as UK), both the lenses and reflector would be incorrect for right-hand traffic.

Based on the EPC, the Hella reflector for right-hand traffic is the same for all 124 Hella lamps... but the lens is still 036-specific. Since you have the late / facelift hood, your part numbers are correct for the lenses:
    124-820-58-66 right
    124-820-57-66 left
