WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

I had my car completely gone over and repainted 10 years ago; then put it in storage. Now that I have more time and are looking at everything closely I realize they forgot to put any of the stickers back on my slam panel. I have all the parts numbers and know they are all NLA. I had read all the posts and been to the dealer. They are ALL NLA as of a few days ago so other than hunting online for decent repro's or using my photoshop skills and hiring a printer is there a one stop shop? Seems like you really have to hunt for each one on ebay.

I would appreciate any leads or corrections to my parts numbers too. These are what I need.

Yellow Emissions Stickers - Is the barcode VIN dependent? If so could I not take the photo one of the members put up and place in my own barcode for my VIN? Any ideas? I'm not going to win any shows but I would like to restore the car to as close to OEM as possible on those kinds of issues.

Engine Specs Right side -White and black. I think 124 584 37 46

US Emissions black and white I think 124 584 11 46 for our cars

    Mobil 1 sticker - 202 584 02 38

    SRS warning White and Red - 129 584 01 02

    A/C Info - 124 835 00 38

    SRS AIRBAG warning sticker - 126 817 3820

    Any leads are appreciated.

I do not believe that any .036 came from the factory with a Mobil 1 sticker installed.

Indeed, I have never seen one ex factory. Those started to appear around MY 1998, if I remember correctly. If it was earlier, definitely no earlier than the 1995 C36 introduction era.

Re: WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

The emissions decal was never, ever available for sale by the dealers. 93-up were yellow, 92 were typically black, but MB would not sell either one as it was considered an emissions item for EPA / DOT / whatever. All the other decals you could buy, although there was only one SRS decal, not two.

Is the silver vacuum line diagram also NLA? The part numbers differed slightly between years / models but they may be equivalent, if one is still available. I haven't checked in years though. Sample photo attached. Real shame the SRS and A/C decals are NLA.

You could attempt to remove used decals from junkyard cars but this could be extremely time consuming, not to mention difficult. If you try this, I'd cut the sheet metal so you can bring the pieces home for surgery.

I think you'd be better off taking a high resolution picture and printing it on a sticker paper.

Re: WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

Thanks for all that. Mobil one sticker not part. I was not sure what stickers my 94 used to have because they are gone. Junkyard or fancy printer is my fate it appears. Wish I was such a freak back then to notice. Paid huge for the paint job but they missed that one.

I think Gerry has pictures of his 94 that I am using as my reference.

Yes the junkyard option is really starting to appeal to me. I would take the whole panel. Anybody know a good MERC yard in VTA county CA?

YELLOW EMISSIONS STICKERS. I would like to know if that BARCODE on yellow sticker is the same for all cars. I would feel pretty dumb using a bar code that had someones VIN. Printer option may be next for those I can't find.

Re: WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

See attached pics... appears the barcode is for a model designation, and is the same on all chassis, for a given year. Photos are from a 1994 E420 and a 1995 E420. Note one has code 804 (1994), and the other is code 805 (1995).

The E500E will have slightly different decals, and diferent part numbers, for each model year. Soooo... to be concours correct, you'd need one from a 1994 E500, USA-spec.

    Needle / haystack!!

Re: WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

Figures......that news is double edged since it's not VIN dependent. I'm going to check that trunk barcode and good idea. If I can scan or capture it I can photo shop in my own VIN. If I can get a top down straight shot of a yellow emissions 94 e500 sticker it would help.

Any 94 E500 owners sympathetic with good camera skills want to shoot and upload a flat picture that can be used as a reference? It would really be appreciated. If I can get a printer to print a min order on "sticker" paper then it may work. The type of sticker paper used is important too as most would not last driving in the rain a few times I fear. All those stickers are made from different papers. Such a little thing but so difficult to duplicate well. If I can't find them I will make them eventually.

Re: WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

I remember on an older For Sale thread, a fellow restored a car with front-end damage, and successfully transferred the decals from the old / damaged sheet metal to the new / replacement. He said it took a long time but it did work. And he disclosed this when selling the car, IIRC. Had to be a few years back. The decals are some sort of vinyl, I think. Might be able to use heat (gently!) and try to scrape underneath to lift them off?

No worries. Must be memory as in addition to having a visceral reaction to the repairs he did and then transferring the labels, I remembered the car had struck a deer.

    on 'deer' and got it!

I've used this guy to reproduce some NLA decals before. If you can send him a pic, he can make them, and they look OE.

Re: WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

Thanks all you. mottati I will try that source first. Thanks. Stickers - Seems trivial but I am determined to get my car as close to show as possible knowing she never will be with over 140K miles and a repaint. Paid a fortune too for the repaint job. ALL 500's should be at their best! I found some decent pictures of the stickers on the members pictures files. If I can't find decent repros or junkyard panels to dissect I will shoot my own if need at a car show but I think I have what I need to work on files and create decent files for print.

GSXR was very helpful and I am trying to work with a senior member (who makes them for TESLA) to make some. If we go that way and they are decent I am sure we will share and offer them to others if desired. In the meantime I just need to confirm they are correct for my 94 and their SIZE. Anybody want to measure and report sizes starting with the yellow emissions stickers on the passenger side? I can figure it out from pictures and my own BLANK panel but any help is appreciated.

Re: WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

Update as of June 2018. For my USA California 1994 E500 I found 2 of the four panel stickers from an EBAY source Germany on EBAY (probably well known to the Sr guys). They claim they are original MB factory stickers in ltd qty. About 20 bucks each (GULP) postage included in price, the GREEN AC sticker 124 817 82 20, the ABS sticker 126 817 38 20 and thought not part of the Radiator support I bought 2 of the code alarm back window stickers as my kids removed them. I will update when my package arrives as to their authenticity as far as I can tell. Not going to refer them in case they are fake. Hope not.

So now I am looking for exact measurements for the yellow and "silver" stickers so I can repro them. Not going to waste my photoshop girls time until I have the specs. Making just for our cars and not for resale. Have a member doing it for free as that's his business. So the run is QTY 2 right now!!! I guess our government gets excited about emissions related stickers. These are the ones that go over the headlights on each side.

YELLOW STICKERS - I have several pictures from what I believe are 1994 E500's like mine yet they all say on the bottom of the paragraph; " YELLOW one reads in part; want to know if the yellow sticker for my 1994 should say 1993 or 1994?? Note- "THIS VEHICLE CONFORMS TO US EPA AND STATE OF CALIFORNIA REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO 1993 MODEL YEAR NEW MOTOR VEHICLES......" . Then on the bottom left it reads 124 E 50 & under this 124 584 20 46 / CODE 491/494+803. I believe my best picture I am working with is from Al Unser, Jr'.s 1994. What the story with the above. Also can someone verify the exact size? I have determined (from pictures and measuring my own car) 160 px by 600 px or 42.333333333mm by 158.75mm.

SILVER EMISSIONS control information sticker - Just Need SIZE verification. I have 235 pixels by 440 pixels or 62.177083333 by 116.41666667mm. For reference this stickers read on the bottom left; 124 E42 / E50 then under this 124 584 11 46 CODE 491/494 + 803 PMB 5.0 V5FA12. My best reference once again is from what I believe is a metallic green 1994 formerly owned by Al Unser, Jr.

Anyone have a caliper that goes past 150mm and can measure? If I can get the right info I think we can make a couple.

Re: WTB: All Slam Panel Stickers 94 E500

For the yellow decals... Code 804 means 1994 USA model year, 805 = 1995. And yes, it should say "APPLICABLE TO 1994 MODEL YEAR".

You mention one showing code 803, this would be from a 1993 USA model year car.

I measure 54mm x 160mm on my 1994 E420 yellow decal. Maybe someone else can confirm dimensions?

OK UPDATE - Got the stickers from ebayer in Germany. Messed up and bought the wrong white "a Mercedes-Benz Product " window sticker. I need the right item number so I can order the right one. See my pictures. All look as advertised. Expensive but better than making them. Still need to make the 2 Emissions related stickers.
