I have just bought a POR 15 starter kit - it is a product I have never used before and quite hard to get here in Ireland. (I mail ordered it)
I intend to use it on my 320CE restoration applied to 2x different areas. First being to treat small areas of existing surface rust on the underbody and second areas being new / clean steel repair patch areas to the underbody and internal side of these repairs to the interior (where applicable).
On the instructions it says not to use a rust converter. My usual repair method before getting this kit was to use rust converter + Wurth Zinc paint.
In either case I always finish the underbody repairs with stone chip and Waxoyl for appearance and protection.
Have any members used POR15 before? Any tips for applying it and getting best results?
What I am most curious about is does it hold up well against rust? I am worrying that if I used POR 15 VS my usual method it may not hold up as well. My rust proofing test will eventually answer my own question …. but in the interim I would be really interested in member's thoughts on POR15
