    02 sensor for M104 E320

I'm trying to order an Oxygen Sensor for my 1994 E320 wagon but Naperville tells me the part # I'm trying to buy is no longer available. I've used multiple sources, including Naperville's site, to come up with part number: 000 540 38 17. Does anyone know if another part (and part #) is now used?

Per the EPC, that part number is correct. Seems odd that it would be NLA, as it fits most all M104-powered 124's. I'd try another dealer and ask if it supercedes to a different number, or if it's temporarily out of stock.

Otherwise, it appears you can get still the aftermarket Bosch...

I was looking at FCP Euro's when I was trying to sort this out and, for this part #, it says it doesn't fit my 1994 E320. But the Autohausaz site says it does: https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/13314

I was also using this site and that's how I first found the part # that is the subject of so much controversy:

    http://mb-teilekatalog.info/view_Sub...=49&subgrp=030

    Very strange.

Thanks GSXR and Klink for your help!

That's an unofficial online EPC, but the part number matches the real EPC. Never trust aftermarket vendor catalogs for fitment (including FCP, AHAZ, or any others). Their accuracy rate is terrible.

Klink would have to validate in Paragon if A0005403817 is really permanent NLA, or if someone at Naperville goofed. Seems unlikely that MB would make an emissions-related part NLA that fits a zillion cars on the road, without having a superceded part number available.

That's exactly what I thought so, before posting here, I asked them to double check and, if applicable, to see if there is a new part #. They came back to confirm that it is not available without saying if there is a new part #.

At least the importec price is way cheaper than the price on Naperville's site. So this process will have saved me $$.

I found the same thing Gixxer did. That is the correct number. There are none at any official MB dealer or parts distributor, but there are also are no NLA notes, etc. making me think it is probably a temporary situation. Regardless, it is a Bosch part used on billions of MB cars, and they are all over the Internet for dirt cheap.

If you need a Bosch, I have one new in box for an E320 that I’m happy to part with, as it was for my own former E320 wagon. Let me know your mailing address and I’ll send it to you gratis via Priority Mail, as I’m going to the post office later today.

Klink to the rescue! This explains a lot. Lack of inventory is COMPLETELY different than "NLA". I agree, it sounds like a temporary out of stock situation.

    Re: 02 sensor for M104 E320

Sending it out today. It is confirmed as Bosch part 13314 (you can see it in my recent PWNER thread photos) in a black Bosch box.

It is DEFINITELY appropriate for a 1995 E320 wagon.

They seem to be available pretty much everywhere for $90-120 apiece. Amazon is carrying them for $86. Today's your lucky day -- you get yours for free.

I do happen to have another vehicle with an M104 engine.....so it was relevant to keep it.

Of course, I do have a spare relay that is specific to the E320 wagon that goes inside the tailgate, that I recently came across. Do you want that?

Interesting - what does this relay do? I'm happy to have it but don't want to take it from you if I don't need it.

Nah, no S124's in my fleet anymore, but Ken Dan might take it off your hands. Or Ron. Speaking of which, Ron, where art thou?

It's the wash/wipe/intermittence relay for the rear hatch window wiper. They are around $35 discounted, $45 new from MB.
