The rust on the front fender makes me feel a little bit better, but. Still.

The fenders, lights and the cladding is worth more than 3x the purse for the winner. For shits and giggles, the bumper covers 3rd place.

It is definitely a rust bucket so it got put on the track.

It doesn’t look like a ‘DEMO DERBY’ So what event is this 24hr of lemons or what?

Has to be LeMons. People don't put cages ($$$) in demolition derby cars.

    Re: 500E at demolition derby

I remember the car from years back (I think, not many with holes in them like this !) it was from the shoreline in MA at one time, like the house was right on the ocean and the sea spray got it. Guy tried to sell it for years and wouldn't take less than 3500 if I recall... I tried to buy it just for this sort of thing; HPDEs...but after seeing all the rust on it I was afraid it would snap in half the way I drive on a track LOL.

Thompson Speedway doesn't do Demo Derbys since the new ownership; not sure they did that before then either. It is actually a really nice track now, after about 7 million $$$s thrown into it.

Cool to see the car still running and being used !!! Damn tho...the graphics are really not flattering at all to the car.

they came down this way to run @ Barber.... I think it was their first race...was still running the SLS and as I remember the linkage was flipped on the leveling valve. It worked better once we pointed that out to them.

Haven't seen/run against her since we made some 'improvements'...

If the original color of this car was smoke silver, then I looked at before buying my E. If that is the case, there is a FS thread out there for it. Maybe this one:

Spruce green (what is left of it) from the factory...there was a near equal silver one for sale also for sale up in MA years back.

Your link is to the Doctor's car that WAS literally living right on the ocean (what a house !)

Jimbo, do you know if it's a 1994 model year, or an early car with a facelift hood? There aren't many Spruce E500's in the nor'east.

i think requirement at Lemons was that it had to be Porsche build in order to register so that took 1994 models out

If you thought it was a 1992 based on the photos in the first post, Gerry, I'd assume someone has hacked your account.

    Re: 500E at demolition derby

I’m just confuzzled. I was told it was a facelift car and asked to look up facelift vins for a possible match.

    Now I’m told it’s a 1992.
