    Wrong ECU?

I have done a few readouts with HFM-scan on my 1993 500E. The following appears:

    System: LH
    ECU Nr: 124 545 07 32
    Supplier: Bosch
    Hardware date: 04/92
    Software date: 44/92
    Diagnosis index: 02
    Displacement: 6.0 l
    Cylinders/Valves: 8/4
    Program status: 53
    Data status: 56
    National variant: 01
    CAT AG

    The number on the LH-box in my car says 015 545 36 32 - date stamp 92M12.

I have yet to take the box out to investigate further, but could this be a box for an E60-engine? Or is it just a glitch in the software?

    Wrong ECU?

Did you check the Wiki entry that delineates the proper part numbers for all of the CAN computers?

The readout you got is likely an error with the software.

Well, I've actually replaced my ECU with ECU 010 545 032, and the car runs better.

That partsnumber A015 545 14 32 is the first version ECU for a r129 SL up to 1995, up to chassis number F085678
    This one was replaced by A016 545 14 32

    Re: Wrong ECU?

010-545-00-32 was also used in the very early 124.036 chassis. Unfortunately, MB removed the supercession info from the EPC, which makes it look like the module was never used in the 124, and that is not correct. Screen shot attached from an old EPC that does show the original part numbers.

    Re: Wrong ECU?

thats weird..it does not come up on the EPC as "valid" for other than the w140 500se.If you do a parts search by partsnumber..only 140 500se comes up..and no 036.did check both european and US/Can.But i see that can happen if they went in and removed the "listing"..which kinda seems abit weird..especially when you search for part number..and not by "car"...

Yup, it's gone in the newer EPC's (EPC-Net/ EWA-Net). The older, green-screen, DOS-appearing EPC from the late 1990's has all the old stuff.

I really don't like it when they remove old part numbers from the EPC. This is just one example, but there are others.

Yep. That’s why I double checked before purchasing it
