2018 MB Concourse d'Elegance (Peachtree Section, Johns Creek, GA)

Today, on a beautiful fall day in Georgia, the 2018 Mercedes Benz Concourse d'Elegance took place in a North suburb of Atlanta. More than 30 cars participated (I heard somebody saying we had 38 cars). Some were very nice cars, especially the black 1952 model that ultimately was the best car in show. It was a stunning car with a restoration that took 20 years. I was amazed of how well that car looked and I could not find anything wrong with its restoration, that's how perfect it was. There was no W126, but we had two C126. One was silver, the other was mine (black pearl).

It was my first participation at such a show. I wish I would had done a better job in preparing my car, basically I worked only the night before (however I always keep my car very clean which helped a lot). In the end I went home with third place Concourse Class. It was a good day for me and I thought that considering my car "preparation", I did okay.

A sensational appearance was the modified Mercedes with the machine gun on top (of course it is replica). The car was not part of the competition, but it did attract a lot of viewers.

So, I thought of showing you some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy it.

Thank you, Louis. I had a good time and realized how my car stacks up against many others.

Had hoped to make it, but AMG was kind enough to swing a pair of hospitality tickets to Laguna Seca for the weekend.
Did spend some time last week working/detailing the 84 500SL euro parked next to you though.

    Hope y'all had Fun!

Man, the color-keyed wheel centers and the slim bumpers totally make the look.

I've always liked 107's but this one really got her hooks into me!

17,xxx miles to boot.....that's factory cosmoline on the distributor cap....

Tri-y's, AMG springs, shocks, steering wheel, front valence and of course penta's. Really just an Awesome example.

That 107 really is beautiful, the stance is on point.

Beautiful 300 coupe as well, looks like an amazing restoration.

Thanks for sharing pics! Congrats on your trophy

Thank you, guys. Yes, I chatted with the gentleman, Eduardo I think was his name. I liked the car and was impressed with the low mileage. I can't remember what he lost points on, but nevertheless it is a nice car.

Jono, maybe one day we meet... Never met you, never met Al, and other MB enthusiasts from Atlanta. I was thinking about organizing a GTG in Atlanta, but recently I have almost no spare time left (and what I have I use it to ... sleep). I was thinking perhaps in October-November and have a cookout too. Anyway, just thinking...

We're thinking of doing a thing here in the fall for Local enthusiasts....or anyone that wants to come really, cookout will likely be on the order.

Not to $hi! On MBCA but their judging is (quite sadly) a joke. I've had quite a few discussions with higher ups, most admit there are Problems. Others just don't care much to change.

I've been entering cars for the sole purpose of supporting the club for years. I suppose my biggest gripe is the lack of Specialists judging. I know more about my cars then the judges do.

    Fwiw, key to winning mbca:

    Original radio
    Power washed engine bay
    Tool kit and Jack
    First aid kit
    MB battery...oh, and shiny.

I could rant here for an age but I'll digress...

I'll keep y'all posted what we put together as the weather starts to cool...
