Re: M117 - Correct thermostat and other cooling questions

The spring steel wings on the top are simply to hold it into the upper housing for ease of installation. The angle at which you find them is of no consequence. You have confirmed what I suspected, which is that those are the same t-stats. And Gentlemen, who remembers when I said that new stats run hotter than used ones for quite a period of time (actually, mileage…) after installation?

Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you, the coolant gauge sensor is the one most forward in your photo. You can use 005 542 10 17 or 005 542 26 17. Same sensors, different vendors.

Indeed, I can't get that chassis number to reference anywhere. From where on the vehicle are you seeing it?

You have the 2nd and 3rd digits backwards. It's WDB, not WBD. But WDB1260441A129918 still is no-go in the EPC.

Got a photo of the VIN tag? I've heard of legitimate VIN's missing in the EPC in the past, but it's insanely rare.

Regardless if the error was theirs, or their supplier, you DO NOT pay return shipping.

    Ridiculous.
