    1991 c126 560 rear sls question

    Hi again....just in the middle of fitting HR springs and bilstein sport springs to my 91 sec with sls...on removing the drivers side rear "shock" I noticed it was almost empty of fluid...very little pressure etc. The passenger side sprayed fluid on cracking line open and continued to empty for some time.
    Prior to this I noticed the drivers side rear about 1 1/4 " lower than the passenger side rear.
    Faulty strut or accumulator or both ???

    Normal on the fluid evacuation.

    You bled off the Majority of the systems pressure when you cracked the first line.

    That lean is bad...even by normal coupe standards...

    How many miles on her?

    Any work done to the rear bushings/subframe?

    All bushings etc look in great condition...thx for info, I'll sort lean out as I'm fitting springs etc

    Do you know how many miles on the accumulators? Mercedes Source has a video on how you can tell if your accumulators are bad but you will have to remove them. I just did the accumulator and SLS strut swap on my 560SEC.

    Stick a screwdriver in each accumulator. See if it stops right quick or makes it to the back of the ball.

    Bushings can look great. Doesn't mean they are.

    Checked both accumulator s and both appear good...stick stopped short, did not go all the way to the back ....any idea why I had so much lean ???

    renew all bushings and springs.
