Repairing front body panel under rocker

One of the brake lines feeding my brake / asr accumulator at the front DS fender sprung a pinhole leak from rust. I started to tear things apart and noticed the badly rusted accumulator bracket and body panel, due to sand and water sitting in the area over time.

Does anyone know if the steel body panel piece that extends off the chassis can be harvested from another w124? Does it need to be 500e?

Was thinking of trying to locate the accumulator elsewhere, but there really isnít any room in the engine bay.

Any help or knowledge is appreciated.

My 420 and 400 with ASR have the same accumulator so it is not E500E only.

Thanks for the reply. Im wondering if the metal body panel that the accumulator attaches to is the same as one from a 400E.

That was my picture in the first post! The section of the cill was rusted through on my 500E when I bought the car. I cut the cill end from a donor “pedestrian” w124 and that was 100% fine. Perfect match.

The seam was fully welded up then the welds ground back and the whole area given several coats of a high quality zinc primer followed by re-seam sealing all of the original joints in that area. (Old seam sealer was ground out prior)

IIRC I did have to transfer over the accumulator bracket from my original cill end. The bracket itself was not bad.
