    1995 E500 Limited worth $45k?

Hello all. I know this is “on topic” but this forum seems to get the most traffic. I might be able to buy a 1994 E500 limited with 41k miles on it for about $45k. Looks to be in amazing shape. It’s a good bit of money. Thoughts?

Price seems almost too good to be true. Have you verified the VIN has code 958? How about a PPI to verify it hasn't been wrecked, has no rust, etc? Where is the car located?

The car is in France. I am stationed in Spain and would import it in 2021 when I come back to the US.

That seems awfully cheap for France.

Yes, that is a good price with a big "it depends".
If the mileage is true and you have records than can prove it etc.

    I would suggest the following:
    - get independent, thorough, pre-purchase inspection (it's worth paying for) - I had local MB dealer in Europe do mine, and asked for signed written report, in addition to getting assistance from others on this forum (photo's of underside and in specific places etc.)
    - validate at PPI that it has not been in accident
    - get paint meter readings
    - I had compression test done on mine (I do that with all older cars - if you can validate that it's original mileage and has not been sitting for years, no need to do this, but I have it done anyway)
    - look for originality labels on car
    - check VIN history
    - see if they are the original wiring harnesses (if they are, they need to be replaced and it will cost you some money to replace)

If its truly 41k miles and a Euro Limited and passes a thorough PPI, then yes, it's worth $45k. You'll have a rare car in the US....'95 E500 Limited.
