Monterey Car Week 2019

I have reserved my rooms for Monterey 2019

I will be arriving in Monterey Thursday August 15th about 12:00. I will be having lunch with friends before making it over to The Star Lounge to have a few drinks and decompress from the drive. At about 6:00 I will head over to The Quail to place my 190E 2.3-16 on the field for the Friday Show.

600Eric will be showing his 1999 E300 W210 Turbodiesel in Class 6 Friday at Legends of the Autobahn.

If any member are planning to be up in the area and would like to join my group for dinner either Thursday, Friday or Saturday please let me know so we can make appropriate plans.

Monterey Car Week Schedule

Friday: August 9
Monterey Kick Off Cruise-In

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca kicks off Monterey Classic Car Week Kick-Off with a classic car show in Downtown Monterey. You'll be able to see 30 classic race cars lining the 300 block of Alvarado Street.
Saturday & Sunday: August 10-11
Monterey Pre-Reunion

The Monterey Pre-Reunion provides racing fans and visitors with the chance to see more than 300 race cars competing for two full days prior to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The paddock is bustling with teams working on their cars in the pits or on their way to pre-grid. The paddock is completely open to wander for enjoying the historic racing experience.
Monday: August 12
The Porsche Monterey Classic

Join Porsche Monterey in celebrating its designation as a Porsche Classic Partner at "The Porsche Monterey Classic", an exclusive Porsche event highlighting Classic Porsches, while enjoying music, whiskey, wine and hors d’oeuvres.

Classic Porsches 10 years of age and older are invited to register, but space is limited so register ASAP.
Tuesday: August 13
Automobilia Monterey

The largest automobilia show in America, and the only time during Concours Week to find 40+ top international dealers in a single venue. A great expo to check out vintage scale models, signs, hood ornaments, books and more.
Concours on the Avenue

Carmel-by-the-Sea's world-famous Ocean Avenue will be closed to traffic and eighteen blocks of downtown will be filled with collector cars and related motorized fun. A fascinating mix of American and foreign cars will be showcased in front of a backdrop of charming shops, critically acclaimed restaurants and numerous galleries. The Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue will focus on vehicles not usually seen during this ten-day period. The cars will include a variety of legendary vehicles. Well over 175 cars will be on display in groups of juried classes during Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue. These will include Luxury Cars, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods and Sporting Cars. Free Admission. Concours on the Avenue is a great option for vintage Ferrari and Porsche enthusiasts.
Classic Motosports Magazine Monterey Kickoff Cruise-In

If you want to savor great food and fine wine, the Classic Motorsports Magazine event may be right up your alley.

Carmel Mission Classic

If you want to gaze at a Ford truck from 1953 while sipping on excellent wine, the Carmel Mission Classic may be for you.
The Little Car Show

The Little Car Show is a fine event for people who like looking at historic autos that are at least a quarter of a century old.
McCall's Motorworks Revival

For those who appreciate gourmet delights, vintage vehicles and pure luxury McCall's Motorworks Revival is a must-see.
Automobilia Monterey

Pebble Beach Motoring Classic

At 3pm, head to The Lodge at Pebble Beach to view cars arriving from the tour.

Thursday August 15

Is when events really start revving up. They include the Italian Stampede, Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction, Worldwide Auctioneers, Mecum Muscle Cars & More, RM Sotheby's Auction, Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, and Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance. Presented by Rolex and Russo and Steele's 17th Annual Sports and Muscle Auction. The Automotive Film and Arts Festival makes a fine choice for people who want to view documentaries that relate to the auto universe. Italian Stampede is a renowned exotic car rally that is centered around manufacturers and the fantastic vehicles they produce. It's a wonderful rally for auto lovers who would like to get acquainted with like-minded individuals. The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is yet another biggie. If you'd like to take in some of the planet's valuable collector vehicles, there's no greater event than this one. You'll be able to check out classes and marques such as the Chapron Coachwork, the Lamborghini Miura and the BMW Centennial.

Werks Reunion

Werks Reunion is a strong choice for people who are proud Porsche owners. The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, on the other hand, is a strong choice for people who want to witness the glory of competing race cars. Race categories include 1966 ~ 1972 Trans-Am and 1955 ~ 1962 GT Car divisions.

Jeff, congrats on the Quail invite. May I ask what class your car is in? I have plans to propose a class in 2-3 years to the Quail. I was turned away for an AMG 50th class for 2017.

I have offered my cars to The Quail over the past few years only to be very politely turned down. I'm excited that they accepted my 190E 2.3-16 this year. As far as which class the car will be featured is unknown at the time since I allowed them to determine which class, but if I had to guess I would say the car will be grouped with Post War Racing since the 16V was raced in the DTM series (16V, EVOI, and EVOII)

I was a little surprised The Quail did not feature the AMG cars for the 50th anniversary in 2017. That said, if you are successful in creating a class in the next few years, perhaps I can join you with one of my other cars.
