    Velour floor mats

    Hi,

Does anybody know is the oem mercedes velour floor mats still available? I found some posts that about year ago they still were available but what is the current status?

I'm looking for black floor mats. I asked mats from the local dealer and they said that they aren't sure if velour mats are still available. They found some part numbers from EPC but they did not have price for the mats..

    Hello.

I've read that this vendor has among the best aftermarket reproductions:
    http://www.classicmercedesmats.co.uk/oldtimervels.html

    Here is also a nice alternativ;
    http://www.mbscashopen.se/e-klass/w2...-egen-logo-4st

Maybe it is something on Ebay too.

I am checking with our Floor mats/Carpets supplier on doing a (.036 Specific) set with Lettering or raised letters (if Rubber material)
They make a make/model specific sets made of new polymer material (less than half the weight of the MB rubber floor mats, very strong with no smells).

Will let you know how it works out..

Very nice! I have such a specific Set in my CL 55 AMG and it looks great. One with a "500E" or "E500" lettering would be great.

Just bought a set in Rips mushroom , these are made by Lengenfelder Autoteppich GmbH .

Got screwed on the price because these are the same mats made by the same company for sale on ebay for half the price from this seller :

    http://www.ebay.de/itm/Rips-Fusmatte...item1c36bc8e85

Anyway these are cool and seems to be good quality

    Re: Velour floor mats

OEM are available here, Robbinsville, NJ MB parts hub has many I was told....I just bought a set in black a few months back. $100 for 4 .

www.hoica.de also makes and sells excellent mats that can be customized with stitching. Def. on the high side of price though...like it was $400 shipped for the RS6 with custom RS Audi logos (nothing is cheap on these cars !)

I like the look of those Patrice...lends a bit of flair to the flooring.

    Re: Velour floor mats

Okay, I had email conversation with Tom Hanson about OEM velour mats but unfortunately he didn't have a picture from those mats which I'm interested. I'd like to see a picture of mats before I'm ordering those mats. Does any of you guys have picture of black velour floor mats ( part number BQ6680177 @USA ) which are currently available? Especially I'm interested if the current OEM velour mats have metallic Mercedes-Benz emblem on it?

Hmm, that's the part number which I got from MB Classic Center. They also told that this part number is only valid in USA. Yep, I'm definetly not going to order W211 rubber mats from States to my car

This part number is correct Q6680177 for the w124 US only ( B6 668 0177 is for the w211)

    It's this style

The OEM velours floor mats for w124 in black is B66209071 per my MB receipt from 2007 when i ordered them .

It comes with the metal mercedes emblem in both front mats .

    Re: Velour floor mats

The US-style mats (Q6680177) that Patrice posted above are the normal MBUSA "dealer" mats for the W124. I've bought several sets of these over the past 10-12 years. They are not very good quality -- not near the quality that they were when our cars were new. The US mats have a cheap foam backing (for anti-slip purposes) that rips and/or crumbles apart.

The mats are not very stiff, and tend to "bunch up" and creep forward, unless held down with metal mat clips. So beware with these "dealer" mats.

Honestly, for the same money it's much better to go with an aftermarket mat such as a Lloyd Mat or Coco Mat. The Lloyd Mats are much thicker and you can get custom info printed on them. These US dealer mats are pretty bad. While they "look" like the great quality dealer mats of olden days, they are of much poorer quality.

    Cheers,
    Gerry

2nd pic in diaconovic's post are exactly what I'm looking for! I'd really like to get a set of those mats. Are they still available? I'd really like to have that metallic Mercedes emblem. If they aren't then I will probably order some aftermarket sets :/

My car came with a set of MBUSA mats diaconivic's first photo post 13. They look okay but there is nothing to hold them in place so driver's mat bunches up in the middle. Kind of annoying when you're driving.

I looked at some after market mats and wanted to get a set with 500E stenciled in but they refused to do it because of trademark issues.

Those carpet floor mats come with metal clips to hold them in place. You can buy additional clips, part number & photo below.

    Hi.
Have Coco floor mats in my 94 E500. Been using and selling them for a few years, never once had a complain.Think once you feel them and see them, you will know it is really good quality.
I only have good tings to say about Drew at Coco floor mats.
    Just my 2 cents.

The Euro OE rib mats (though not sure if still available) are heavy, hard wearing, fit nice and tight/snug. So tight I didn't experienced movement at all and were ,in fact, quite an effort to remove when cleaning, hence there is no need for clips/fastners.

Known as "Ribbed" mats , fitted to this day on some MBs in Europe. Source above on eBay probably your best bet. I scored the last set from a dealer in London before I sold my car. Not sure if still available , but there a couple of sources that are equally as good such as these guys : http://www.classicmercedesmats.co.uk/

I can confirm that Mercedes is still selling these low-quality mats. I had hoped that maybe they improved, so for $102, I ordered the parchment mats from Napperville (Q-6-68-0179). They turned out to be just as Gerry described. They are flimsy and have no heal pad, so the dirt really shows with the lighter color. I would say they are less than half as thick as the original mats. The only good thing I can say about them is they come with a clip for each of the front mats.

They should look like the first photo in post #13 above. I don't believe they have changed style in 10-15 years; at least every set I've purchased at the dealer over the past 15 years has been the same type. And yes, with daily use they wear rapidly, particularly the driver heel area.

    For daily use, the dealer all-weather rubber mats are what we have in our daily-driver W124's (400E / E420). W124 p/n is Q-668-0345, $112 list, $83 Naperville:
    https://www.mboemparts.com/oem-parts...ber-m-q6680345

The rubber stuff is really nice quality IMO, only bummer is the rears don't fit the V8 models well due to the reshaped floor vs the non-V8's. Same issue applies to the dealer velours mats, as has been discussed at length in past threads many years ago. Very hard to find V8-specific mats that fit perfectly in the rear. It's not a big deal unless you have OCD issues, I've long gotten over it.

    Re: Velour floor mats

Are these black ribbed floor mats rubber or velour? I like the logo, which was what I was hoping for on the stealership mats I ordered.

Gerry, this is what my mats look like after only a few days of driving. With no heal pad the dirt really shows. Too bad they don't make the originals anymore.

That is why I no longer buy light-colored mats - too difficult to keep clean, unless you live in a dry area with lots of pavement. Even then the light carpet tends to show every shoe mark. I've been buying black floor mats for mushroom cream/parchment interiors, this helps a lot.

The photos you posted above look very similar to the last velours mats I bought from the dealer, but the logo appears slightly different style / shape. I wonder if the supplier changed, or if it's the same supplier and MB changed their specified logo?

I can't remember the last time it rained here, so those are just regular leather dress shoe marks. I think I'm going to look into black mats and move away from parchment. I wonder if Lloyd mats will embroider the Mercedes logo.
