    About me
My name is Saad Hamdan, and I love classic cars. By way of background I am a Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer and Businessman. I am passionate about locating low mileage mint condition cars with focus on European classics, and in some cases American classics. Collecting cars is my passion and my hobby; it is not how I make a living. I do it for the pure joy of ownership and driving pleasure of each car I am privileged to purchase, and typically share same with family and friends before I make the car available for sale to pursue the next acquisition.

I only buy the best of the best. My specialty is low-mileage, original, pristine Mercedes-Benz and occasionally some other fine European and/or American classics as well. I don't just purchase any car - I purchase cars that I would love to own and that meet my quality standards.

During my period of ownership, I thoroughly go through each and every car, and address any mechanical, electrical and/or cosmetic needs using my trusted team of qualified and certified technicians that I have enjoyed working with for many years.

When you buy from my collection, you can be confident that you are buying a quality vehicle that will reliably serve you and please you for many years to come. My ultimate goal is for every one of my clients to be completely satisfied with his/her purchase.

    Hello Saad

Your car looks great. Maybe it's a misprint, but the M119 is a DOCH engine with 32 valves.

That's a standard W140 toolkit. You need a W140 plastic tub to hold it ... It's larger diameter than the stock tub on the 036. I did this mod on my E500 many years ago.

He's missing the plastic tub as well as the hinged plastic clamshell top for the toolkit, and some of the tools themselves. Should be easy to score from the 'bay or a wrecking yard.

In the picture of the rear of the car, is it my eyes or is the car leaning to the left?

    Hello.

I guess it is a optical phenomena where the camera is held twisted, i.e. not parallell to the object. I measured the height on the car at two similar reference points on the left vs. right side, and the left side is some milimeters taller/thicker. Additionally is the camera slightly inclined down to the left, look at the roof profile.

Want to personally thank Saad and u-auto, quick and fast transaction, and 3-day shipping from Florida to Connecticut to boot! Very happy, car was just as described.

Car is excellent, runs like a top and likely one of the nicest used cars I have purchased (and I have purchased a lot over the years..). I had it up on my lift and it is very clean underneath as well, with evidence of newer tie-rod ends, bushings, Eibach springs, etc. Not even any surface rust on the undercarriage components as you'd normally expect. Seems like a very well maintained car. I would say the only nicer used car I came across in person was Darby's 1992 500e and that had 52k miles on it at the time.

Here are a few more pix, I thought the MB color was close to my Porsche's Atlas Gray, so thought I'd share.

He bought a Cayenne Turbo and a 964 wide body and has other cars, buys and sells often.
Great seller the car was exactly as advertised.

Yes, but wasn't a flip. I drove and registered the car, it was my 2nd 500E. Bought a Cayenne Turbo S and a 1994 964WB. Also have a 96 C4S, so something had to go. Perhaps a car I shouldn't have sold, it was really that nice. Glad it went to an enthusiast and caring owner, and a really nice guy.

How are you liking the Cayenne Turbo S, what year did you get ?

I've always liked them, lowered and chipped of course.

It's an '09. Love the Cayenne, great all around 'super suv'. Rides great, even though it's lowered via Durametric.

Yellow brakes.....nice....$8700 option. I have them on my '04 996 Turbo Cab......no dust, last FOREVER. Just be REALLY careful removing the wheels as not to touch those $$$$ rotors!

Beautiful, I might have to look into one of these.

Do they still make the Cayenne's in manual? It would be a must, the 500 is the only exception to the rule.

    For Sale, No affiliation.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-Merced...s/263806352722

    BIN = $35,000 or Offer. Ends 7/16/2018

    Miles = 142,957

Up for sale is my 1993 Mercedes 500E. This has been a sunny weather, weekends car for me and my wife so it was not a daily driver. This car is in excellent condition and has no known issues at this time and no rust. Everything works (rear sunshade, headrests, heated seats, etc). It has an extensive list of new parts (for example, new front windshield and new rear window, complete new suspension, fuel pumps and much more) and will be a great car for the next owner. It also has the updated ("facelift") hood, grill and headlights. Below I have listed the work that has been done to the car (primarily by me) and the new parts that have been installed along with mileage and dates (I also have receipts for all of the parts). The car has a clean title and Carfax/Autocheck. I also have a VMI for the car for those that are interested. I am probably leaving some details out that some people may be interested in, so please contact me if you have questions about the car. Thanks!

More pictures can be viewed here: EDIT: eBay would not let me put in a "shortened" URL to the additional 120 pictures I have of the car. Please contact me and I will send you the shared link

Condition: Excellent. With new suspension, motor mounts, tune-up and alignment the car runs and drives like new. It has all new suspension front and rear, including rear sub-frame bushings. The Autocheck Report on ebay shows 9 owners. For a non-exotic, that's a serious number.

But the condition looks quite good, regardless.

It’s my car. I looked through the Autocheck and their calculation for number of owners appears incorrect. I believe the total number is actually 5.

It was $17k five years ago... thread title was updated to current ask of $35k, but after Ace had posted... so replies up to that point will show the old info of 129kmi, $17k, and Columbia, SC.

17K would certainly make it an easier sale, but I think its worth a bit more than that at this time. Might put it on BAT if it does not sell on eBay but not sure I can stomach the BAT peanut gallery

With the way you're presenting the car, I think you can safely ignore the peanut gallery. Ebay with the right reserve may move it too, although I'm not sure sales consummate there as much as simple advertising. GL

The ONLY peanut gallery that matters when it comes to E500Es is this forum.

Most all comments on BaT about an .034 or .036 are uninformed jokes and should not be taken as anything more than cheap entertainment (or my personal specialty, trolling).

I don't disagree. But the misinformation and doubt that some BAT commenters bring to an auction can sometimes ruin a sale. I have read through quite a few BAT auction comments and it appears to be a "sport" for some of those guys. Just trolling around waiting to post various questions that may bring something about the car into doubt. And when one puts so much effort into making a car as nice as it can be, it can be a bit difficult to put the car out there for the vultures to tear apart.

    Re: FS: 1993 500E, Black/Black, 143kmi, $35k (Lincoln, NE)

All you have to do is to post in BaT an informative comment that the car is located at (URL) here on this forum, and that there is historical and intelligent discussion about it by experts in the marque/model. That can generally dismiss the idiots out there. By putting that link in the original ad, and perhaps a couple of times in the comments, it can cut down on the inane/banal discussion by the idiots out there.

COMPROMISE: If you want a "clean" FOR SALE ad here (either to refer BaTshits to, or for sale purposes here), I am OK with you creating a new/clean thread. But just know that there will be an admin note or post to your clean thread, referring readers to this thread. And when the car sells, the clean thread will be combined with/tacked onto this thread for historical tracking purposes.

My humble recommendation would just be to advertise the car here, as this is your target market. If you don't want the BaT peanut gallery and all of its associated crap, and are sensitive to the idiots vultures over there tearing it down, then just don't bother with it and don't forego the premium to them. Just sell it here. May take a bit of time, as did maplevalleyhammer's car, but it'll sell and there are PLENTY of prospective buyers either lurking or who advertise their desires on this site.

Personally, I would NEVER put a car on BaT, but that's just me. I've always ONLY done private sales, and that's all I will EVER do in the future. It's also easier to do business by reputation - folks know me and generally know that when I sell something, they will get what I said. No games.

Well, this car is mine now. Shipped to Los Angeles last week, had to replace catalysts to get it California legal, but it's now registered and my ownership experience begins.

Very pleased with the overall condition of the car. Only things I've discovered were broken were power mirror switch (replaced already) and passenger seat won't go back (hoping this is fixed with a new switch as well). Slight steering vibration at speed, feels like wheel/tire balance?

Took it to a local specialist for a once-over and they were blown away by how well-cared-for the car is.

I already love it, and looking forward to spending some quality time with this fine machine.
