Post #6 (link) says no. That is actually dielectric grease... very different stuff.

Start reading at post #69 in this thread to follow the saga of locating an exact replacement... so far, no joy.

Most of the Revolution Parts sites aren't well maintained or up to date on status of any particular part. Much better to go to the MB CLassic site, which is maintained and shows availability (or not). It's not foolproof, but is the best there is at this point in time. I think GSXR has that MB Classic Parts site on speed dial.

And you know, I do for nearly everything these days since I'm dealing with the '65 220SEb. The German classic site, as a matter of fact. I just didn't for this. Duh.

They used to sell the sunroof lube by the tub, too. I wonder if gsxr can come up with that number? I think I gave him a copy of the chemicals and lubricants catalog a while back...

I bought a tub of "Gleitpaste" (aka "Da Gleit") about 6-7 years ago. I'd say I'm about 50% done with it. Enough so that I am considering adding a spare tub to my MB lubricants "deep stock".

BTW, I call my fluids cabinet in the garage shop my "989 storage". This is due to MB fluids/lubes having 989 in their part numbers.

    It's a nice complement to the 589s.

Sunroof lube (Gleitpaste) is still available, and AFAIK is only sold by the barrel, 001-989-46-51. $92 list, $68 discount. Some vendors sell smaller quantities. Spendy, but a lifetime supply for anything smaller than a Jono-fleet.

I really need to update that image, I'm not sure if Rusty / Bimby is still in bizness these days?

PDF attached for those brave enough to risk their bank accounts by looking at it. You've been warned.

I bet Al is wishing that his "shizz" Silikonpaste was only $68, LOL !! You get a lot more of Da Gleit for the $68 than you do the Silikonpaste.

Nope. Working for WorldParts, long out of the retail business.

Haven't been any Rusty related 'Qs in many years. I was one of the original attendees, and I can tell you, they were quite raucous.

However, there is an annual "Chowdah Q" in the Providence, RI area every September that is going on 10 or 12 years now, if not longer. I attend it almost every year. I can post details when the date is finalized for this year. A group of us have impromptu "Qs" when possible. I have tried to convince people to have a "Tampa Q" during the winter months, as it's a great time to get away to Florida. My community has a private park with covered picnic areas that would be perfect. I can never seem to get anyone interested....
